Oh how I LOVE UTAH!!

Well we decided to take a trip to Utah. We tried to leave early on Wednesday morning. Our goal was to leave by 7am....well at about 11:05 we were on the road... hows that for mormon standard time LOL
So we are off, all of us packed in there like a can or sardines, minus the smell. My grandma and come along, so between the 3 adults and 2 children our trip was filled with alot of 'potty stops' For the most part the girls traveled well. Although there were times went Kenzie would give the usual shout out of "Are we there yet?" Or at one point it was even "I would rather sleep in a tree then drive anymore"

We finally made it to my aunts house in Idaho at about 8pm, what a long day. I love to visit my aunt. Her house is so welcoming and inviting. You can feel at home there instantly. Kenzie and Addison took to Braden really fast. Kenzie had a blast playing with Braden. And I had fun chasing Addison around the house, trying to keep her out of all the knick knacks... (Aunt Louise you need to child proof your house more!) We then left in the morning for Utah. My grandma stayed in Idaho. This part of the drive is my favorite. The stretch of I-15 from Idaho Falls to Salt Lake, its a pretty drive. We took a detour over to Rexburg to see the new temple. Man is it gorgeous!! Here is a picture of it. Its up on the top of the hill. You can see it for miles. Very majestic.

We were then on our way, but first had to stop for some great food at my favorite place to eat when I am down there.sonic

I love this place... but the best part of the whole meal is the fry sauce. Yeah I know its really to make, but that fact that it comes in its own little package...I just love it. Canada has its poutine, and the USA has their fry sauce.

Alright so after a wonderful burger at Sonic we were off and on the road again. First stop was Idaho Falls to see the temple there. This temple is another nice one.. oh what am I saying all the temples are beautiful. But this one with the falls infront of it makes it really beautiful!

Idaho Falls LDS Temple

Kenzie was amazed that there were two temples so close together. I think in her mind there was only one temple and that was the one in Cardston. Once we were done our short stop in Idaho Falls we were back on the road. We finally made it to Utah in the afternoon. And after realizing that my mom had booked the wrong hotel, and getting lost trying to find the right hotel we were all pretty tired and just wanted to go to bed. Friday we spent most of the day at Temple Square. What a beautiful place in the spring. All the blossoms, all the flowers. I could of sat there all day and just smelled the air.
Words cant really describe the beauty of Temple Square so here are a few pictures.

Our last night in Utah my moms cousin Judy took us out to dinner. She wanted to make it a fun place for the girls so she took us to Tepanyaki. It was so much fun. And the food was great. You order your food, and then the chef comes out and cooks if for you right there on the grill at your table. Kenzie wasn't to sure about the big fire in the beginning. Little bit to close for her likeing. But Addison thought it was funny, she would force out her laugh and clap the whole time.

We then headed back home. Stoped in Idaho to pick up grandma. Spent the night then back on the road again. A nasty storm had just hit Manida pass and so the road where so bad. I hate that pass on a good day! But in the end fun was had by all. And we all made it home safely!!

This next picture is of Addison playing with the dolls at Aunt Louise's.

My lil singer!!

This year Kenzie was asked to be in the Jr Choir at school. At first I was hesitant but then after all of her begging I finally said yes. And I am glad that I did. She loves it. And its so cute to watch her up there just singing her heart out. I dont think she likes the 730am practices that she has everyweek but oh well. Last week the choir sang in the Rotary Festival here in town and they did great.. I am so proud of her. Her grade one choir also sang and they did great too!! The adjudicator had nothing but positve things to say!! She also has a concert tonight with the choir.. I will post some more pictures from tonight later.

Things I will miss!!

As I was driving into town the other day I started to think about all the things that I was going to miss once I leave Cardston. And all my life I have wanted out of this town, but it made me sad to actaully sit down and think of all the memories and fun times that I have had in this town.. So here are a few things that I am going to miss.
The Temple

Its amazing how you can live Cardston your whole life and never really take the time to enjoy the beauty of the temple. We really do take it for advantage. There are many people out there in the world that would love to live this close to a temple, yet its right here in our backyard and we forget about it.

Old Chief

My whole life this has been MY mountain. I dont really have much to say about this one, but Im jsut going to miss it alot. I think its the fact that there are no mountains in Saskatchewan. I am going to have to get a nice big picture of Old Chief and put it in my living room. I love it so much.

My Grandma

HEHE this is my grandma doing what she does best. Pulling teeth. I am going to miss everything about my grandma. She has taught me so much, always willing to help you out no matter what. And I know that my girls are going to miss her too. Kenzie loves to go to grandmas to play and read stories. Im going to miss her bread, cookies, hot cross buns and her creams veggies...to name a few.. I have almost mastered her cookie recipe so I can at least make them when I am home sick for her.

This is Grandma with Addison on her blessing day!

My dads gravesite

Now I know most of you are going to cringe and think 'why is she going to miss that' but this is my place.. This is my place where I go when I am having a bad day, or just need to be alone. I know that I can go here, cry a few tear and then feel at peace again.

And last but not least MY FAMILY

I am going to miss being able to see my family whenever I want. I may not show it all the time but they do mean alot to me. But more then anything I am going to miss my mom. She is my best friend, I know that I can tell her anything and she will not judge me at all... she may laugh at me and make a joke out of it, but I know that she will always be my friend.
